I love him.
I don't want him upfront next season. I want an actual centre forward and Antonio playing wide or playing off the CF

Of course he can get in the box, but that's not his starting position, is it?
In any other kind of build-up, you'd want your striker in the box as soon as possible.

What makes you think he can't be involved in any goal mouth scramble? He takes the throw in, it gets bounced around a bit, and by that time, Antonio is in or around the box and don't forget, we normally bring up at least one centre back plus Rice and Soucek, there's plenty of big men their to get their head on the ball
But I'll take your concerns and pass them onto Moyes, I'm sure he'll thank you for it

I hope his current good form doesn’t result in an England call up so wright Phillips can fuck his ankle.

I missed the games where Payet was our main striker.

I see he posted on Twitter ‘WE AINT LEAVING’ with his head superimposed on the head of Leonardo DiCaprio from the scene in the Wolf Of Wall Street where he is addressing the staff telling them he isn’t giving up

I'd rather have him in the box than have him playing a non-essential role which he cannot score from.
Good job you're not the manager then, I'm pretty sure Moyes would have told him not to take long throws if he thought he'd be better off in the box
Don't forget Payet took a lot of our corners too, shouldn't he have been better off in the box?

A long throw specialist is nice to have, but not every team has one.

He is on his way to cult terrace status.
He plays with a fucking smile every game. Out muscles the opposition all over the pitch. Can get goals from nowhere. Good on his head.
Connects with us. The carpet gesture was funny.
Has played at every level from grassroots with no silver spoon. His older Brother sacrificed cash to get him boots as he could not afford his first pair.
Never heard to kick up a fuss about wages or contracts.
Has the charm and knowledge to quit football and get a career in anything sporting he wants yet wants to keep playing.
Puts a shift in , at the rate that put 4 of our so called big four signings to shame.
Hope like Rice, he sticks around and gets a trophy with us.
Not bothered where he plays , as he always puts in a shift and by far the biggest pain in the arse power wise to play against.

Isn't he the only long throw specialist we have?

Re: Michail Antonio

All depends on his form.
Only disadvantage I can see to having an in form Antonio as our main striker is that we seem to insist on him taking throws.
We don't have to insist on him taking throws.

He's obviously been in great form since the restart, but how would people feel if we started next season with Antonio our first choice striker? Should we be looking to bring in a new forward? Do we want him back on the wing - even if it would mean shifting Bowen out to the left?

He has done well, especially yesterday but you still dont want him running one on one with a goalkeeper.
Yesterday he missed one but it fell kindly to him. Burnley, hit it wide and there was a similar one missed in a game the other week too. Think also the one he missed when Haller played him through with the rabona.
The goals he has scored could all be scored from playing in a wide position too.
He has undoubtedly in my mind been watching a lot of football though as he seems to be making better space for himself.

He’s made a difference leading from the front, raises the performance of those around him. Players know there’s an outlet up top to get the ball to and will make something happen, similar to what Moyes had last time around with Arnautovic.

Re: Michail Antonio

Anyone still think Antonio cannot lead our attack as a loan forward? He is an amazing player, managers are forever playing him “out of position” and he just gets on with it and tries and learns and eventually does a great job. I think I’m no wrong to say the only positions we haven’t played him are CB and LB. RB he found difficult, but he did it and improved, when he was asked to it. I still think he is best on the right midfield / attack, but after those 1st 2 games he has been doing a brilliant job for us at the front.
